Here’s to the Women!

The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote. This historic centennial offers an opportunity to commemorate a milestone of democracy and to explore its relevance to the issues of equal rights today. In this vein, the Library welcomes Bellingham-based activist singer/songwriter Linda Allen who will be performing a multi-media presentation “Here’s to the Women.” The empowering of women’s voices as they struggled for the vote are showcased in this entertaining and educational presentation featuring songs, images, stories and readings.
