Annual Tour de Lopez
April 25th, 2020
The 2020 Ride Has Been Cancelled
This very popular non-competitive bicycle tour of Lopez Island is brought to you by the Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce and is the kickoff event for cycling in the beautiful San Juan Islands. Whether you make it a day trip or make it a weekend getaway you will not be disappointed! Many of our riders return every year for this event.
There are four routes (5, 12, 17 & 31 mile) that are marked with our unique recycled bicycles with two starting points – Odlin Park at the north end close to the ferry landing, and Lopez Community Center in Lopez Village. There are three designated rest areas along the route that offer great bakery treats, from Holly B’s Bakery and fresh organic fruit provided by Blossom Grocery, water and other assistance if needed. Rest areas open at 8:30am.
All routes end in the Village at Lopez Community Center where you will enjoy a 3 course lunch provided by Ursa Minor and Poutine Your Mouth. Cyclists and locals alike enjoy lunch, a beer garden and music in the Pavilion.
Commemorative artwork by well-known local artist Christa Malay has been designed for posters, t-shirts, sweatshirts and other merchandise that will be available for sale on-site.
Registration will close by April 11th, 2020 or when we reach 850 registered riders, whichever comes first. Register early if you want to be part of this fun event.
Tour de Lopez is a major fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce and serves as a great introduction to what Lopez Island has to offer visitors. Many riders return throughout the year with family & friends. Proceeds from the event help cover the various activities of the Chamber, including the maintenance & operation of Village Park.
Ride for 3 miles or ride for 31 (or something in between)! Come enjoy the Lopez scenery before the summer rush.
MANY THANKS TO OUR MAJOR AND SUPPORTING 2019 SPONSORS:
