Saturday before Earth Day

Great Island Cleanup

This is another event held in conjunction with Earth Day. Small groups of adults and children disperse around the island and spend the better part of the day picking up litter. Hundreds of pounds of refuse are collected each year – rain or shine – and is coordinated by the Lopez Solid Waste Disposal District.

Tour de Lopez

Tour de Lopez is a casual, non-competitive bicycle tour that welcomes riders of all ages and abilities to experience the scenic roads, rolling farmlands, and quiet coves of Lopez Island. Sponsored by the Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce, the event celebrates the island’s natural beauty and friendly community spirit, providing a fun-filled day of cycling, camaraderie, and exploration.

Annual Lopez Center Concert

Fun Run, Book Sale, Parade, and Fire Works

Celebrate Independence Day on Lopez Island with a morning Fun Run, a charming Book Sale, and our famous small-town Parade that winds through the heart of the village. Non-Competitive Cycling Tour Through Lopez Island

Tour de Lopez

Get ready for the annual Tour de Lopez—a springtime tradition that brings cyclists of all skill levels to Lopez Island’s scenic roads. Mark your calendar for April 26, 2025, and choose from a variety of route options, ranging from short family-friendly loops to more challenging rides. Whether you’re after gorgeous waterfront views, rolling farmland, or the chance to pedal past local orchards, there’s a route for everyone.

After the ride, join fellow cyclists and island locals for a festive afternoon featuring local food, live music, and plenty of small-town charm. Organized by the Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce, Tour de Lopez is the perfect opportunity to soak up the island’s beauty, meet new friends, and celebrate the joy of cycling. Don’t miss out on this once-a-year experience—register early to secure your spot!

4th of July Parade

Parade Theme: TO BE ANNOUNCED

Lopez Island has a special way of celebrating the Fourth of July. It has become one of Washington State’s most treasured celebrations. Visitors come from all over to participate in this unique small town event.

Our old-fashioned small town parade starts at 11:00 a.m. and is now organized by the Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce. Come join us either in the parade or to watch along Fisherman Bay Road starting between the Galley Restaurant and the Islander Resort, winding through the Village on Lopez Road ending at Week’s Road and Fisherman Bay Road. Any organization or individual may participate. Entries can be elaborate (for Lopez) floats or simple costumes and posters. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. between the Galley Restaurant and the Islander Resort on Fisherman Bay Road.

You can spend part of the afternoon at the Annual Lopez Library Book Sale, a book lovers dream.

The day ends with our spectacular evening fireworks display, presented by the Lopez Community Fireworks Display Committee. See our Community Calendar for other activities over the holiday weekend.
