The Hamlet is a beautiful residential community for people age 55 and over. It includes 14 rental cottages for independent living, as well as an adult family home for those who need 24-hour assistance. As a non-profit that provides both senior care and housing, the Hamlet is unique to our region. The vision is to provide well built, centrally located independent cottages that are affordable to seniors of varying incomes, and an adult family home to care for elders once they can no longer live independently. The Hamlet focuses on the belief that seniors on Lopez Island should not have to leave the community they love as they age. It also particularly welcomes relatives of island families, so that they may age closer to their loved ones. The Hamlet has served over 90 individuals since it opened its doors over 15 years ago.
