Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Group

Open to ALL!

Another fire season has passed with no major wildfires on Lopez! Instead of holding your breath and crossing your fingers for the same in 2019, how about getting a few neighbors together this fall and becoming a FIREWISE neighborhood?

FIREWISE is a FREE neighborhood program that provides a collaborative framework for neighbors to reduce wildfire risks at the local level. It is designed to empower and engage residents living in wildfire prone areas with a plan and actions that can increase their home’s chances of surviving wildfire, while also making it safer for firefighters.

The DNR works with local fire districts and neighborhoods to support implementation of an action plan that results in greatly reduced risk of fire for participating neighborhoods.

David Way, a DNR Fire Management Forester based in Sedro-Woolley, is coming to tell Lopezians more about what it takes to participate in FIREWISE.

Please bring a neighbor or two and come learn more!
