LIFE Trail Appreciation Day!

Join us for a day of fun and festivities as we celebrate the under-appreciated beauty of the LIFE Trail (Lopez Island Fitness & Ecology)! Rain or shine, come on down! Park and meet at school tennis courts

Boasting a large native willow grove, a mile of easy-grade established flat trail, and a series of outdoor fitness stations, there is something for everyone of all ages and abilities in this little gem of public land.

Activities for the day:

9:00 AM-10:30 AM(ish): Planting Party – re-establishing rare or under-represented native plants by getting our hands in the dirt! All tools and gloves required; tea and light snacks provided.

11:00 AM-12:00 PM: Tracking and Nature-Connection workshop with Nathan Donnelly, ages 12 through adult

12:00-1:00: Wonders of the Wild workshop with Libby Valluzzi, ages 5-10, limit 8 kids (advanced sign-up is appreciated)

All Day Long: walk the trail, ask questions of your local LIFE Trail stewards (we’ll be set up next to the tennis court parking area from 9AM-2PM), learn information about LIFE Trail-specific ecology and habitat, and enjoy the amazing diversity of migratory and resident birds living in the willow habitat.
