Vermont accordionist Jeremiah McLane and Seattle fiddler Ruthie Dornfeld have performed together for over twenty five years, and their innovative spirits and warm rapport have delighted audiences throughout North American and Europe. Their repertoire includes traditional music from Central France, Vermont and Quebec, as well as their original compositions. Their CD Hummingbird won the BRAVO award from the French magazine Trad-Mag. Fiddler Ruthie Dornfeld’s big tone, fierce rhythm and fluid style, along with a wildly eclectic repertoire, have won her popularity among dancers and concert audiences alike. He has helped create bands such as The Clayfoot Strutters, Wheezer & Squeezer, Duo Cassotto, Allos Musica, Le Bon Vent, and Nightingale. He has recorded over thirty CDs including his first, Smile When You’re Ready, which was nominated by National Public Radio in their ‘favorite picks’, and his most recent, The Wind Among the Reeds which won the Montpelier’s Times-Argus Vermont album of the year award for 2016. The Montpelier Times-Argus also named Jeremiah musician of the year for 2016, citing his contributions in teaching, recording and performing is his various configurations.
